Govt to accord Non-Discriminatory access status to India: Dastagir

ISLAMABAD: The minister of State for Commerce and Textile Khurram Dastagir on Monday said that rather than MFN status, government is going to accord Non- Discriminatory Access (NDA) to India.
Talking to media persons in the parliament house Khurram Dastagir said that India has already given MFN status to Pakistan however it has not given access to its market. While India has access to 82 percent market of Pakistan but we have not given status of MFN to India. He said any final decision in this regard would be taken after consultation from all stake holders.
Dastagir informed that government would make efforts to provide level playing field to its investors in Indian markets.
The minister said government is working to containerize the Wahga border to save the time and to remove the security issues at the border. Facilitations would be provided at Wahga border to boost the bilateral trade through it.
Khurram Dastagir further appraised that government is taking measures for effective implementation of all three trade agreements with India done in previous tenure.
He further noted that Pakistan would participate in SAARC business enclave in India.
