LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N President Nawaz Sharif has said that the Taliban offer for talks should be taken seriously.

He said that war and use of force is not the solution to any problem and that the play of explosives and spilling of blood only create hatred and distances, for which Pakistan is paying a heavy price. Nawaz said that the offer of negotiations by the Taliban should be taken seriously as the people of Pakistan need peace.

In a statement, the PML-N chief called upon the government to initiate serious, purposeful and result-oriented process of negotiations with Taliban, without any delay. He said the PML-N has always supported the resolution of all problems through negotiations.

Nawaz said that resolutions passed by parliament have also emphasised taking concrete steps to set the matters straight. He said that the nation wants peace, without which progress and prosperity can never be realised.

End.
