ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said he is rey to hold talks with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President, Nawaz Sharif, on a host of issues, including early general elections in the country.

"I am not afraid of early elections and am ready to talk to PML-N's Nawaz Sharif for the same," Zardari said in an extensive interview with a private TV channel on Friday.

The president dispelled the reports that matter regarding holding of early Senate elections in February was discussed in the PPP Core Committee meeting on Thursday.

He rebuffed the impression that he had personal grudge with Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, and also declined having a tussle with the Supreme Court or the Pakistan Army."

"The civilian government has no problem with either the army or the judiciary," he clarified. Commenting on 'memogate scandal', he said unnecessary importance was given to the memo issue, adding that he would respect the Parliamentary Committee on National Security's (PCNS) decision, for he believed parliament was supreme.

End.
