Govt not paying any heed to masses' miseries: PML-Q

22 December, 2013

LAHORE: President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Senator Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and senior party leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi have said that the govt was not paying any attention to basic issues faced by the people.

Both leaders said this while addressing meeting of the PML Punjab Parliamentary Party here on Saturday.

PML-Q leaders said that assembly was intentionally being kept in dark and unconcerned about worsening situation of price hike, lawlessness and other important matters.

"Govt do not talk on these matters in the assembly, this attitude was against basic principles of democracy and supremacy of the Constitution and law," party president added.

The meeting decided that peoples' problems and issues would effectively and forcefully be raised inside and outside the assembly.

The meeting also decided to contact with other members of the opposition so that united efforts would be made for solution of masses problems.

Parliamentary party also expressed concern over inappropriate attitude of the govt towards the opposition members and opined that the opposition was also being ignored in the development funds matter.

The meeting was attended by MPAs Amir Sultan Cheema, Ahmad Shah Khagga, Dr Muhammad Afzal, Sardar Asif Nakai, Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal, Baasima Chaudhary and Jayeda Khalid, provincial general secretary Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan, senior vice-president Muhammad Basharat Raja and additional general secretary Nasir Mahmood Gill among others.
