ISLAMABAD: A spokesman of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock clarifying a news item appearing in a section of press that the government is considering a proposal for allowing the export of wheat, said that the report is not based on facts.

The spokesman clarified that no proposal under consideration to allow export of wheat and made it clear that the government has banned the export of wheat to control the trend of increase in the prices of wheat.

He further said that the government is committed to providing flour to the local consumer at lower prices and taking all possible steps to maintain the prices of wheat stable.
