Govt has no right to rule after Quetta attacks: Magsi

12 January, 2013

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Zulfiqar Magsi on Friday termed the recent blasts in Quetta a "sheer failure" after which "the government has no right to rule".

Talking to the media after inquiring after those who were injured in Thursday's bombings, he recollected horrifying scenes of mayhem and carnage which "brought the equally horrifying realisation that after such mayhem and carnage, the government has no right to rule".

"I am a governor only by title while the chief minister exercises actual powers," he said.

Separately, unidentified armed men shot dead two labourers in Sariab area on Friday morning. Police sources said that the armed assailants, riding a motorcycle, came to a shop in Killi Kamalo Sariab and opened fire on the two labourers there.

"The labourers received wounds and succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital," police said. The dead were identified as Siraj and Abdul Mateen. Police had registered a case and started an investigation.
