Gilani gives status of minister to Sherry Rehman

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday conferred the status of federal minister on Ambassador of Pakistan to the USA Sherry Rehman.
The Cabinet Division issued the notification in this regard on Wednesday.
Sherry Rehman, a former information minister, was appointed Pakistan's ambassador to the United States of America on November 23 last year. She was member of the National Assembly before appointment as ambassador to the US and was serving as Pakistan Red Crescent Society chairperson.
Sherry Rehman was also member of the national security committee of parliament and founding president of the Jinnah Institute in Islamabad, an independent public policy institute committed to regional peace and inclusive democracy in Pakistan. She served as federal minister for information and broadcasting from March 2008 to 2009.
