Four more killed, 62 arrested in Karachi

KARACHI: At least four more persons have been killed by the miscreants while 62 suspects including a most wanted accused have been taken into custody by the security forces in Karachi during 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.
According to local police, some unknown motorbike riding attackers opened fire at a female college student and her father in Gulistan-e-Johar on Sunday morning and fled away, leaving the girl dead on the spot and her father critically injured. The injured father was moved to hospital but he could not survive and succumbed to injuries while receiving medical assistance in the ICU.
One dead body was found from a school in New Karachi and another tortured body was recovered from Malir River near Shah Faisal Colony. The youth was killed with multiple stabbing of a dagger and slip, containing message of the killer, was also found near the body, told the police. Police have arrested a dry cleaner, as suspect, from a nearby ground of that public school.
At the other side, the rangers and police have arrested 62 more suspects during raids in different parts of the city on Saturday. Amongst the arrested miscreants is also included a most wanted accused and key member of a banned outfit, Adnan Alias Abu Hamza.
Adnan's name is noted in the Red Book, a register of the most wanted criminals, of the police. The CID police team arrested Adnan from West Wharf area of Kemari and seized two hand grenades and one pistol from his custody.
