Four militants killed, 10 held in Bolan

QUETTA: In an operation in Balochistan the security forces have killed six rebels and arrested 10 others.
The Frontier Corps laid a siege in Pir Ghaib area of Bolan on Monday and conducted a search operation. According to the Frontier Corps spokesman, the Sibi Scouts carried out the search operation against the militants in Pir Ghaib. After an exchange of fire, four militants were killed and 10 others arrested. The arrested militants were handed over to the Balochistan Levies.
The FC recovered a huge quantity of arms and explosives during the operation. At least 22 kilogrammes of explosive material, 2 Kalashnikovs, 4 magazines and a remote control were recovered from the militants.
The militants' bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital, Quetta but they could not be identified. The Frontier Corps and police also carried out a joint operation and arrested 33 suspected persons from Marri Camp area of western bypass of Quetta. The Marri Camp, a settlement of Marri tribesmen who returned from Afghanistan voluntarily in 1990s, was subjected to constant raids by the security forces.
FC IG Ubaidullah Khan appreciated the FC operation against the militants. He said FC Balochistan would continue its action against the subversive elements. It may mentioned here that following the bus incident in which labourers were slain, the FC carried out search operations in Bolan, Mastung and Quetta during last three days and killed 12 militants and arrested more than 50 suspects.
