KABUL: Four NATO soldiers and an Afghan interpreter were killed in separate roadside bombings in southern and eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, the military alliance in the war-torn country said.Two International Security Assistance Force service members died following separate road bombings triggered by improvised explosive devices in southern Afghanistan today, ISAF said.

A separate press release said two ISAF service members died following an "improvised explosive device attack" in eastern Afghanistan.

"A local Afghan interpreter, contracted by ISAF, also died following the IED attack," the press release available with the AIP stated.Keeping in line with policy, the press releases did not disclose nationalities of the dead soldiers.

The Taliban claimed causing heavy casualties to foreign forces in attacks in southern provinces of Afghanistan, including Helmand, Kandahar and Zabul and in eastern provinces of Wardag, Ghazni, Logar, Paktiya, Khost and Kunar today. The death toll of the foreign soldiers to die in the war-hit Afghanistan climbed to 269 in 2012 so far.
