Four FC men killed in battle with militants

QUETTA: As many as nine people – four personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) and five militants – were killed in a fierce exchange of fire in Prome area, some 100 kilometres from Panjgur District, on Saturday.
Frontier Corps spokesman confirmed the incident in a statement and said that the security personnel were patrolling Prome area of Panjgur District when unidentified militants attacked their convoy. As a result, four security personnel were killed another sustained injuries. The security forces returned fire, killing five militants. The spokesman said that a huge quantity of arms was recovered from the militants.
The FC inspector general appreciated the force's successful action against the militants and said the FC will utilise all its resources to ensure peace in the province. Panjgur police official Mushtaq Ahmed confirmed the attack to our sources and said the militants attacked the FC personnel in Prome, killing four and injuring two.
Mustaq Ahmed said the FC personnel did not hand over the militants' bodies to the district administration and launched a search operation in Prome in which the district administration officials were not allowed to participate.
