VEHARI: Dense and shallow patches of fog blanketed the most parts of Punjab on Thursday morning and triggered road accidents, claiming five lives. According to media reports, the dense fog minimised visibility on highways and posed serious threats of accidents as the winter is expanding its foothold. On Thursday, three people were killed and two severely injured at Punjab's Jhang town when a tractor collided with a motor-rickshaw on Faislabad Road near Mochiwala area. The injured were moved to nearby hospitals. In another accident, a man was killed and nine others were wounded when a bus flipped over a highway near Kalar Kahar salt range. Police said the bus, going to Raiwind from Kohat, overturned due to break failure. Meanwhile, a similar fog-related mishap took place in Punjab's Muzaffargarh district near Kot Addu town where a fast-moving car collided head-on with a tractor on GT Road. A man was killed and three others injured. Moreover, a bus-truck collision near Bhakkar Town of Punjab left five people injured, three children among them. End.
