Five more killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Five more persons were killed and 10 including a woman were inured in fresh violence in Karachi on Tuesday. The deceased also included Managing Director of a factory and worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

According to media reports, unknown motorcyclists opened firing on a car. As a result, a a person was killed while other sustained injuries in Bhains Colony area of Shah Latif police station.

Police stated that the deceased was identified as Arshad Pervaiz, 65, MD in a factory, while Kashif Qizalbaash was injured. Both were residents of Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

Meanwhile, four persons were killed and three others were injured as an armed man opened fire in a hotel at Dawood Chorangi locality. The accused was identified as Ismail.

Sources in police said that Ismail killed Ali in a hotel and after killing him he entered in Moin Plaza and opened firing there. As a result, Shah Jahan, a vegetable merchant, and Malik Arshad, owner of a general store, were killed.

Ismail also killed one Saeed, as he tried to intervene and to stop the accused.

Police arrested the accused and started investigations.

In another incident, unknown motorcyclists opened firing near a wedding hall and killed a worker of 121/B unit of MQM named Tauqeer Abbasi while two including a woman sustained injuries in Town Sector 16 Gulshan-e-Bahar area.

In the jurisdiction of Awami Colony police station, unknown miscreants killed Ijaz Ahmed Siddique, 65.

Police registered cases of all incidents and started investigations.
