Five gangsters among 15 arrested in Capital

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Wednesday arrested 15 persons including a gang of five notorious criminals and recovered huge cache of weapons, hashish and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said. According to details, a special team conducted raids to trace the criminals. During various raids, they succeeded to arrest five criminals identified as Shabbir Hussain, Saiful Maluk, Shehryar, Abdul Malik and Muhammad Asif, besides recovering five 30-bore pistols and 33 rounds from their possession. During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to commit dacoity at the house of Samina Basheer Ahmed at sector F-8/4 and 18 other dacoities only in Karachi and several others in Lahore and Islamabad including sector I-8/2.On a tip off, Industrial Area police nabbed Atif Anjum, Mudassar Iqbal, Naghma Taufiq and Nadia for their alleged involvement in immoral activities. Police arrested Haroonur Rashid for having 30 bore pistol while Koral police apprehended Nadeem for possessing 110 grams hashish.During routine patrolling, Bhara Kahu police arrested Aamir Shahzad for having 12-bore gun while an accused Dil Nawaz was apprehended for having 12-bore gun too. Sihala police arrested Pervez Akhtar during general hold-up for possessing 30-bore pistol while Tarnol police apprehended Aakash Ali for having carbine. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way. End.
