Federal cabinet gets four more members

17 January, 2014

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has been expanded with the induction of three federal ministers and one minister of state. President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to the new ministers at a simple ceremony at the Presidency on Thursday.

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), which has been supporting the government, has now formally joined the coalition as its two key members have been inducted in the cabinet.

The new ministers are Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani of the JUI-F, Abbas Khan Afridi (FATA) and Engineer Khurram Dastagir of the PML-N while Abdul Ghafoor Haidri of the JUI-F has been made minister of state.

Khurram Dastagir was earlier minister of state for commerce. The portfolio of the newly inducted ministers would be announced later.

End.
