PESHAWAR: Central Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI)F Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called for initiating negotiation with Taliban for ending the ongoing war among militants and security forces.

He said this while talking to media men after offering fateha for Shaheed Bashir Bilour here on Tuesday. Maulana Fazlur Rehman was in Saudi Arabia for performing Umra due to which he came late for offering condolence.

Barrister Haroon Bilour, elder son of Bashir Bilour, who has also assumed the charge of Adviser to the Chief Minister on Local Government, received Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The JUI-F chief said talks is the only solution to this problem andparliament has already suggested for the same in its resolution regarding war on terror.

He said the thinking of ANP chief, Asfandar Wali Khan and JUI-F leadership is now becoming same and the former is also suggesting for holding talks."It is need of hour for all the national leadership to come forward and play their role effectively for saving the nation from the menace of militancy and affects of war against terrorism," Maulana remarked.

He said if elections are held in Afghanistan and Iraq, why not in Pakistan, Fazl asked? In response to a question about long march call by Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri, he replied in lighter mood that Allama is doing politics on the pretext of 'Riasat' (State). Allama has raised the slogan that "Save state and not politics", but he is dong politics under this slogan.

Earlier, Fazl paid rich tributes to Shaheed Bashir Bilour. He said Bashir Bilour was a brave politician who took very bold stance and remained steadfast on it despite receiving serious threats to his life. He said Bashir Bilour had very good relations with his late father, Mufti Mehmood and his relation with our family remained cordial till his death.

End.
