FIA files petition for daily hearing of BB murder case

17 January, 2013

RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday filed a petition in the Rawalpindi bench of Lahore High Court (LHC), seeking a judicial order for the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to hear the Benazir Bhutto murder case on a daily basis.

The FIA pleaded that the counsels for all accused are using delaying tactics to linger on the case.

Talking to APP, Senior Public Prosecutor of FIA Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali said a trial court, under the Anti-Terrorism Act, is bound to hold daily hearing of the cases for their quick disposal.

A divisional bench of the Lahore High Court will hear the petition of FIA today (Thursday).

End.
