17 March, 2013

QUETTA: The Frontier Corps (FC) says it has foiled terrorist attacks following two raids in which the security agency claims to have seized explosives and taken 14 suspects into custody.

FC Spokesman said the paramilitary troops conducted raids in Roshan Colony near Sui and recovered five kilograms of explosives and one time-bomb device. However no arrest was made.

In another raid carried out in the Lalazar area of Hub, FC recovered about 100 kg of explosives besides other raw material used for militant activities, said the spokesman. The seized items included six rolls of detonating cord, 130 meters of safety fuze, 1500 kilograms of bomb-making chemical, 58 detonators and two shotguns. The suspects were later handed over to police for further investigation.
