Explosives seized, suspects detained in Chaman

QUETTA: The Pakistan Railways (PR) police on Tuesday detained three Afghan nationals and recovered explosive devices from their possession after checking in Chaman. According to PR police, three suspected Afghan nationals including Abdul Rehman, Abdul Samad and Abdul Jameel were apprehended from Quetta-bound passenger train near Chaman Railway Station by PR police during checking. Explosive materials including 50 anti-personnel mines, 30 detonators, 20 bombs, prima card cables and fake NIC cards of Pakistani origin were recovered from their possession, which would have been used in Quetta. They were handed over to police for further interrogation. Separately, unknown armed men shot dead a man in Guldar Baghicha area of Chaman. Levies personnel said that the victim Muhammad Naseem was on his way home when armed assailants riding a motorbike opened fire on him and fled. As a result, he died on the spot. End.
