In not more than 48 hours in business, the newly elected French president slashed his and his cabinet's salary by 30 percent. Considering France is a rich and prosperous country compared to Pakistan, this act of President Hollande shows the level of sincerity and patriotism he possesses as a leader toward his country. I wish our leaders, especially the president and the prime minister of Pakistan, follow a path of selfless devotion and make such an announcement. If the government could cut half its expenses, much of our financial troubles would go away. SYED NAYYAR UDDIN AHMED
