ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said Saturday that rental power corruption case against him has been unduly politicized and that the case should be left for the court to decide.

Talking to media after appearing before an anti-corruption court, Ashraf said that all facts about the so-called corruption in rental power projects should be made public.

Ex-prime minister said that the rental power projects started in 2006, adding several other people were associated with the projects but he was singled out in the case.

Farooq H Naek, counsel of the ex-PM, said that there is no corruption charge on Ashraf, adding his client did not get benefit of even a single penny while awarding contracts for rental power projects.

Ashraf was to be charge-sheeted in the case today but his counsel requested the court not do so until decisions on several other relevant applications pending before high court.

On this request, the court decided to adjourn the hearing till Jan. 3, 2014.
