Elahi asks PML-Q members to install party flags at residences

06 October, 2012

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Friday issued a directive asking all office-bearers to install party flags, bearing the election symbol – cycle – prominently at their residences and offices.

The directive said 'cycle' was the symbol of victory and hope for the people. The office-bearers were directed to print the symbol of cycle on all the publicity material.

Meanwhile, party leadership on Friday nominated former MNA Rehman Naseer as PML's candidate in the by-elections from NA-107 (Gujrat). PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that all members would have to work together to win the by-elections. He said, "I am sure that the people will vote for our candidates in the by-elections to ensure their victory." Speaking on the occasion, Rehman Naseer expressed gratitude to Shujaat, Elahi and Shafaat Hussain for awarding him the party ticket. He said that he would take all angry friends and colleagues in NA-107 with him, even if he had to go to their doors.

Prominent figures of the constituency, including former district nazim Chaudhry Shafaat Hussain, MPAs Chaudhry Arshad, Khalid Asghar Ghural, Chaudhry Owais, Azmat Shah, Chaudhry Owais Sidh, Malik Asghar, Chaudhry Sajjad Ahmad, Chaudhry Zia, Raja Haq Nawaz, Captain Khalid Azhar and Chaudhry Shahid Raza Kotla, welcomed the decision of the party leadership. Muhammad Basharat Raja and Ghias Ahmed Mela were also present on the occasion.

End.
