KARACHI: Eidul Azha would be celebrated in the country on September 13, says an announcement by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman after a meeting on Friday in Karachi.

“We have reached a consensus that the moon for the month of Zilhaj was not sighted and Eidul Azha will now be celebrated across the country on September 13,” said Mufti Muneeb. Earlier, several meetings of central moon-sighting committee and zonal committees were held in all provincial capitals. No credible evidences of moon sighting were reported from anywhere in the country. Zilhaj, the last month in the Islamic calendar, would now start on September 4.
