Education crisis... By Mahrukh

Just like any other sector, we have destroyed our education system beyond repair. The negligence of the government towards the private education sector is especially regrettable. Here I want to highlight a small example of this apathy. Masters degree holders in business administration are finding it hard to find any decent job, reason being it is the lack of knowledge and expertise they exhibit when employed. A prerequisite age to get enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration Executive is 30 plus and at least eight years experience. So that when they study the programme they already have hands-on experience about business administration.

However in Pakistan even institutions with international recognition are performing poorly and have become money making machines. They are imparting bookish knowledge and that too of no quality. The result is that most of the graduates of these colleges are nothing but a repository of knowledge that is inapplicable to the practical environment.
