ECP printing nomination papers

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday announced that it has started printing of proposed nomination papers at the Printing Corporation of Pakistan. ECP member from Punjab Justice (r) Riaz Kiyani stated that the proposed draft was sent to the president, only to fulfil a formality, however there was no need to wait for an approval. He said that only those nomination papers would be printed to which the ECP had granted approval. "After the papers are composed, they will be sent for proof reading. After the printing procedure is complete, the nomination papers will be sent to the district returning officer prior to the election schedule," he stated. The ECP has proposed March 21 for the announcement of election schedule, he added. ECP starts drafting ordinance on electoral reforms: The ECP has started to draft an ordinance for the approval of electoral reforms. Speaking to reporters Justice (r) Kiyani said that implementation of reforms was vital to hold free and fair elections. End.
