Dr AQ Khan a closed chapter: FO

17 September, 2012

ISLAMABAD: A Foreign Office spokesman on Sunday said that it had been clearly established that the nuclear proliferation activity linked with Dr AQ Khan was an individual act, and did not carry authorisation of any Pakistani government, at any stage.

In a response to a question regarding comments made by Dr AQ Khan in a leading newspaper regarding transfer of nuclear technology, the spokesman said that the matter had been thoroughly investigated in the year 2003-04.

The spokesman further said that the so-called Dr AQ Khan affair was a closed chapter. Pakistan has taken all necessary measures in support of nuclear non-proliferation and extended full cooperation to the international community in this regard, he added.

End.
