District chief, 3 cops injured

KANDAHAR: A district chief among four people were wounded in a roadside bomb attack yesterday in Uruzgan, police said Thursday. The incident happened in Khalj area, Gezab district, when a vehicle travelling in by district chief, Abdullah, struck a landmine during operation by security forces, Farid Aail, spokesman for Uruzgan police, told AIP. Besides the district chief, three police were also wounded in the explosion, he said, the injured the injured were taken to hospital for treatment and were declared in stable condition. There was now word by Taliban in this regard. End.
