Deep-rooted racism... By Mubashir

Recently, a woman pushed a man off a subway platform in New York, resulting in the death of the 46-year-old. The accused woman has been arrested by the New York police. The 31-year-old woman is Erika Menendez and she has stated that she committed this act because she hated Hindus and Muslims. She added that she had hated Hindus and Muslims ever since 2001 when they (Hindus and Muslims) brought down the twin towers. The woman was also quoted as saying that she had been beating up Hindus and Muslims since 2001. The victim was Sunando Sen, who had been born in India and ran a printing shop in the US. It is still not clear whether Sunando Sen was Hindu or Muslim. Sunando's roommate has stated that he was not married and that his parents were not alive. The tragic incident shows that some people, like this woman, do not care about innocent lives and take life for their unjustified emotions. The woman pushed this man to his death because she thought he was somehow responsible for the 9/11 attacks. It is a shame that racism is so deep-rooted and barbaric in the US. She deserves the maximum penalty for this crime. This also shows that the US government has failed to protect the common people. This is the second such incident in which someone has been pushed to his death in a New York City subway station. A few days back, 26 people, including 20 innocent children, were killed by a 20-year-old man in Newtown, Connecticut. That unfortunate incident also highlights the law and order situation in the US. On many occasions, the US has named different countries as being unsafe for their citizens but the incidents that have occurred in the US in the past few months show that even the US has failed to maintain law and order.
