Data collection... By Gohar

Data collecting for instance finger print, car number plates, ID cards information etc can go a long way in controlling crime as well as terrorism. If Pakistan could start with every citizen being registered, we can control crime to a great extent, but lack of good data base hinders crime controlling agencies.
Instead of depending on functional departments such as education, health, livestock etc. there should be a separate department dedicated to collecting quality data for the country. This department should exist at union council level so that accurate data can be gathered; it should be able to provide information on request. The workloads of our government offices can be considerably reduced by bringing in new technology and introducing e-governance which would yield desired results.
