Dar to represent Pakistan at WB-IMF annual meetings

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has left for Washington on Tuesday to attend the annual World Bank-IMF meetings this week, as top economic managers from around the world gather in Washington for a series of discussions.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is leading a Pakistani delegation to the meeting and this would be his first visit to Washington after assuming the charge of Finance Minister of a democratically elected government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Ministry of Finance sources said.
The sources said that during his visit, Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will meet with senior leadership of the international financial institutions including World Bank and IMF. The minister will also likely to meet Iranian and Afghanistan Finance Ministers. He will apprise his interlocutors of Islamabad's economic growth plan and development priorities.He is also expected to discuss Pakistan-US cooperative ties with American key officials. Senator Dar is scheduled to address the Pakistani business council.
