Dar smells rat in new provinces commission before elections

04 February, 2013

LAHORE: The opposition leader in Senate, Ishaq Dar, has termed the formation of new provinces as part of a political drama, adding that the plan will divide Punjab province into smaller regions.

He was addressing the media after the inaugural ceremony of blood bank and laboratory at Data Darbar in Lahore on Sunday.

Ishaq said that the government will not be able to get two-third majority to pass the bill over the formation of new provinces.

Referring to the matter of interim setup, the PML-N leader said that the procedure is very clear in the constitution, stating that the issue will be reviewed by election commission if consensus could not be reached between the government and the opposition over the caretaker PM.

He slammed Tahirul Qadri for demanding dissolution of election commission.

End.
