27 February, 2013
SRINAGAR: Sikh organisation‚ Dal Khalsa‚ has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani in New Delhi as illegal and unjust. President of Dal Khalsa‚ H. S. Dhami‚ in a statement demanding immediate release of Syed Ali Gilani expressed serious concern over the silence of Indian civil society and eminent human rights activists over the issue. He said that Indian government had stooped too low to gag the voice of Kashmiri people. He urged the UN Human Rights Council‚ Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to intervene and take stock of the restrictions on the veteran Hurriyet leader. End.
