The duty of the police is to arrest criminals and produce them before the court, which declares them either guilty or innocent. However, unfortunately, our police are misusing their powers to the extent that they do not capture or arrest criminals but kill them, which is known as extrajudicial killings. No one is saying that criminals should not be punished, but even a murderer or rapist deserves their day in court. No one is allowed to take the law into their own hands and misuse their power. The government should take strict action against such police officers that are involved in extrajudicial killings. If this is the way to treat criminals, then why do we have courts? There should be no law and the law of the jungle should be adopted. Shame on our police — instead of maintaining law and order, they themselves have become criminals. REHAN ALI
