Cricket's darkest day... By Asif

06 March, 2013

Four years on from the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team's bus in Lahore, we are no further away from the sporting isolation we are plunged into. The Sri Lankan team was on its way to Gaddafi Stadium for the third day of the second test match against Pakistan when gunmen opened fire and threw grenades at the bus, killing eight people at Liberty roundabout.

It was a tragic episode in the history of Pakistan's cricket — there has been no international cricket in the country since. Pakistan has suffered a lot in its fight against terrorism. In such a situation the whole world should stand with Pakistan in helping revive international cricket and the reduction of terrorism in Pakistan.
