Crackdown on 230,000 electricity bill defaulters soon

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Ministry of Water and Power agreed on Wednesday to launch crackdown on 230,000 electricity bill defaulters for recovery an outstanding amount of Rs 110 billion.

NAB Chairman Admiral (r) Fasih Bokhari in a detailed meeting with Minister for Water and Power Ahmed Mukhtar has decided to take action against electricity bill defaulters (private consumers). The ministry will provide a list of electricity bill defaulters by Monday evening (March 11, 2013). As per initial information provided by the ministry, action will be taken against 230,000 defaulters.
