18 October, 2012

RAWALPINDI: The special court has rejected the bail applications of former DG Hajj Rao Shakil and ex Additional Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Aftab-ul-Islam, apprehended in Hajj scandal case.

The judge Iftikhar Ali Khan has recorded the statement of two witnesses of the prosecution and adjourned the hearing till today(Thursday).

The court had framed charge sheet against Rao Shakil as he got job by tempering the documents. Rao is facing the charge that when he was Secretary Water and Power he sent his CV to Ministry of Religious Affairs for the vacancy of DG Hajj after amending his date of birth.

His actual date of birth was 25 December 1952 , but he showed 25 December 1954 in his CV to get the job. Moreover he did not mention about the cases pending in NAB against him .

The court called prosecution's witness regarding the tempering
