Count your blessings... By Nageen

16 December, 2013

The question on everyone's mind these days is: what will come next as we continue to exist in the democratic state of Pakistan. Inflation, economic instability, political hoaxes, price hikes, poverty and terrorism define Pakistan. However, there is so much more to Pakistan than just these flaws.

Despite all the negatives, Pakistan gives us the right to be free. But what are we doing? We are letting this beautiful dome built with the blood of our ancestors shatter into pieces and fall into the valley of darkness, without even realising that we are the ones to be blamed for all this. Faith is what we need in order to succeed. The people of this nation need to believe in sovereignty. Our lives are difficult, intolerable and unbearable at times but that does not mean that one should lose hope. Our country is similar to a flower, fragile and delicate, which can crumble if it is not protected. So, stay strong, hopeful and fight against the odds with all that you have because you can never be certain of what comes next.
