Conspiracies afoot against MQM: Altaf

KARACHI/LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has condemned "propaganda" against his party and directed workers to get ready to face "conspiracies".
According to reports, Altaf Hussain chaired a meeting in London and held consultation with his party leaders over MQM's organisational matters, national political situation, upcoming local government elections in the country and the recent situation facing the party in London.
On the occasion, Altaf Hussain said that conspiracies are afoot against Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the party leadership and workers should get united to foil such plots. Reposing their confidence in the leadership of Altaf Hussain, MQM leaders vowed not to support none other than Altaf Hussain.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, Farooq Sattar, Adil Siddiqui, Rauf Siddiqui, Babar Ghauri and MQM Rabita Committee members Nadeem Nusrat, Muhammad Ashfaq and Mustafa Aziz Abidi.
Reports said Dr Ishratul Ibad held a separate meeting with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief and discussed the ongoing operation against criminals in Karachi and MQM's relations with PPP and PML-N.
