Congo virus kills man in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: A man died of Congo virus in Shinwari Sheikhmalkhel on Saturday. Health teams have arrived in the area to gather information about the virus, a local person told. Yaseen, the 20-year-old victim suffering from high fever, was admitted to Khyber Teaching Hospital a few days prior to his death but couldn't survive, sources said. The blood tests sent to the National Institute of Health in Islamabad testified the patient had Congo virus, a common disease found in animals, sources added. The incident marked the first such case recorded in Landikotal. End.
