Committee for peace with Taliban meets today

ISLAMABAD: The first meeting of a four-member committee constituted for talks with the Taliban will met at the Prime Minister's House today (Friday), PM's Assistant on National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui said on Thursday.

Siddiqui, who is also a member of the committee, said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would chair the meeting, which would deliberate upon the scope and mandate of the committee, sources said.

Prime Minister Nawaz said Wednesday peace should be given another chance as he announced the formation of a four-member committee to carry out the dialogue process with the Taliban. The committee comprises Irfan Siddique, Major (r) Aamir, Rahimullah Yousafzai and Rustam Shah Mohmand.
