KABUL: A civilian was killed and two more were injured while five persons were freed from captivity in separate incidents in Wardak province, officials said Wednesday.

A Wardag press statement available with the AIP stated the armed opponents opened fire on a vehicle in Mashin Kala area of Syedabad district, leaving its driver dead and two more persons injured.

The press release added the intelligence personnel freed four persons, residents of Ghazni who were kidnapped by the armed opponents yesterday.
