ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is for the development of all areas of Pakistan and no province or area is being discriminated in this regard.

Addressing a press conference flanked by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid, Ahsan Iqbal said that some forces were spreading baseless propaganda against the CPEC and making these projects controversial. Referring to baseless propaganda by the Indian media, Ahsan Iqbal said the CPEC is not against any country and will usher in a new era of progress and development in the entire region.

Ahsan Iqbal said economic zones would be established in all the provinces under the CPEC. He said that energy generation projects worth $ 28 billion under the CPEC would be completed by the year 2017 which would help 2-3 percent growth in the GDP.
