Chief spy injured, NDS head, five others die in blast

KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief Asadullah Khalid was injured in a suicide blast that struck into the NDS-run guesthouse in Kabul City on Thursday, an official said.
Meanwhile, sources told the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) that the injured NDS chief Asadullah Khalid had been shifted in a helicopter to the Bagram Airfield for medical treatment.
The sources said they had no information whether Asadullah Khalid had sustained critical or minor injuries.
The suicide attack took place when Asadullah Khalid was meeting visitors, sources said, adding five people had been killed and eight more injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, the Taliban claimed responsibility for conducting suicide attack on Afghanistan's intelligence chief Asadullah Khalid in Kabul City on Thursday.
The attack was conducted by a fighter Hafiz Muhammad which killed and injured some National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials including Asadullah Khalid, the Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).
It's pertinent to mention here that the NDS chief Asadullah Khalid was injured in a suicide attack in his guesthouse in Taimana area of Kabul City today.
