Islamabad: The city police have finalised the security plan for the chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) police officers and officials will perform special duties today (Saturday) to avoid any untoward incident across the Country.
Pillion riding would also be banned on the central route of the main chehlum procession, however, the police wrote an application to the Home Department for suspension of cell phone services on the procession route.
Police high-ups also issued strict direction to the officials to check the participants on all entry points of the route into four tyre security parameters through metal detectors, walk through gates and manually and than allow to join the procession.
The police department would also utilise the services of Elite Force, Mujahid Force, Quick Response Force in addition to personnel of special branch and other intelligence agencies for round the clock observation in all sensitive areas. A senior police officer said a “foolproof” security plan has finalised to maintain law and order in the city on the eve of chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). He said police high-ups have passed on strict directions to police officials to ensure patrolling in their respective areas and give surprise visits at police pickets set up within their jurisdictions.
