CHAMAN: A blast near the railway station in Chaman on Wednesday killed at least two persons and injured 10 others.
The Chaman deputy commissioner said that the remote-controlled explosive device was planted on a motorcycle, parked near the ticket booth of the railway station. It went off when a train was leaving for Quetta.
Security and rescue teams reached the blast site and shifted the wounded, including women, children and two policemen, to Civil Hospital Chaman where an emergency was declared.
Railway traffic in the area was suspended whereas the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman was also sealed following the incident. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the blast and expressed their sympathies with the bereaved families.
