CCPO suspends 56 cops on various charges

LAHORE: The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ch. Shafique Ahmad has once again dismissed from service another 56 police officials including 11 officers and traffic wardens on charges of misuse of authority, illegal detention, corruption, delay in registering cases, misbehave, misconduct with citizens, failure to control crimes and also patronising criminals on Tuesday.

CCPO issued these strict punishments on different charges against 78 police officials during the first week of 2014. He gave these punishments while hearing appeals of 202 police officials.

CCPO said that there was no room for corrupt and inefficient police officials in the department and any one who took law in their hands would be dealt with iron hands. He also said that the prime responsibility of police was to protect the life and property of citizens and they should perform their duties honestly.
