Bombing accused awarded death sentence on 48 counts

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday awarded death sentence to a person, Usman, on 48 counts, imprisonment of 140 years and a fine of Rs 2.8 million after convicting him in a terrorist attack outside the office of ISI in Faisalabad. At least 24 people were killed in the bombing. ATC judge Masood Arshad, after conclusion of hearing of the case at Faisalabad District Jail, announced the verdict. However, Abdur Rehman, another accused in the case, was released by the court giving him benefit of the doubt. Usman was convicted of conducting a car bomb blast outside the ISI office in Faisalabad in 2011. He was arrested near Rail Bazaar while he was trying to flee after the blast. End.
