Bomb Disposal Squad defuses 20kg bomb in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Monday thwarted an attempt of terrorism by defusing a 20kg bomb planted in congested Bana Mari area of Peshawar.

According to BDS official Shafqat Malik, passers-by spotted the explosive device in Bana Mari area and informed police. He said the officials of BDS successfully defused the bomb which if exploded would have caused a huge damage.

Shafqat Malik said that BDS is on high alert on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladun Nabi (PBUH), being celebrated today (Tuesday).
