Blast at ISAF base kills NATO soldier

KABUL: An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldier was killed in an explosion on an ISAF camp in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday (November 13), the US-led military alliance said.
"An International Security Assistance Force service member died as a result of an explosion on an ISAF camp in southern Afghanistan today," an ISAF press release available with the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) stated.
"The cause of the explosion in unknown, however, there is no current indication that the explosion was a result of enemy activity. ISAF officials are investigating the incident," the press release added.
The statement, however, did not disclose nationality of the dead soldier and exact location of the incident, saying "It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities."
