Bezinjo assails PPP leaders in missing persons case
10 June, 2012
QUETTA: Terming the missing persons issue the core issue of Balochistan, National Party (NP) Central Secretary General Tahir Bezinjo has said that more than 400 decomposed bodies of missing Baloch youth had been recovered, but the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders did nothing other than issuing dynamic statements and doing paper work. Addressing a press conference, Bezinjo said, "Asma Jahangir has been threatened for voicing sheer human rights violation in the country and if kill and dump policy was not stopped it would yield terrible results." The NP leader said that the chief justice of Pakistan had unmasked elements involved behind the killing and throwing bodies of more than 400 Baloch youth hailing from middle class. He said that human rights violations could not be termed internal issue by any country whether it is India or any other country. The NP leader said that carrying out sectarian violence in Balochistan was aimed at diverting the attention of the world from the real issue of Balochistan. Responding to a question, he said that commissions and committees did not do anything except paper work, adding that previously three committees were formed on missing persons that yielded no results but wasted time. "People now only have trust in the Supreme Court since the president and the prime minister have done nothing except making rhetoric," he added. Yet another query, he said that if foreign agencies were involved in deteriorated law and order in Balochistan, then authorities concerned should bring the evidence before the media. End.
